Camp Highlights

• Curriculum Overview: Based on the CS-STEM Network Mechanical Foundations with REV DUO course developed by Carnegie Mellon University, participants will:
  • Build stable robotic structures and explore concepts like strength, balance, and center of gravity.
  • Experiment with power transmission systems, gear ratios, and mechanical advantage.
  • Design and construct customized drivetrains to tackle challenges like climbing obstacles.
• Hands-On Projects: Campers will complete exciting projects and challenges, including:
  • Building reinforced 3D structures.
  • Designing and testing motorized systems for speed and torque.
  • Creating obstacle-climbing drivetrains using omni or mecanum wheels.
• Skills Development: Learn to use tools effectively while mastering mechanical concepts critical for robotics.

Certification Opportunities

• All participants will receive a Completion Certificate from Blue Ridge Boost at the end of the camp.
• Campers can also opt to take the CS-STEM Network Student Certification as part of the SMART Robotics Technician Program, endorsed by the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute.
