What is FIRST LEGO League (FLL)?

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a global robotics program that inspires young people to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through hands-on learning and friendly competition. Each year, the FLL challenges change and are centered around a theme. In this course, students will tackle FLL competitions in-house at Blue Ridge Boost and experience how FLL teams design, build, and train for competitions of all kinds.

FLL challenges students to think critically, work collaboratively, and have fun, making it an unforgettable experience that builds skills for life!

Students Will Learn:

  • Robot Building: Design and construct LEGO robots using SPIKE Prime kits.
  • Programming Basics: Use block coding to control robot movements and complete challenge missions.
  • Core Values: Explore teamwork, collaboration, and gracious professionalism—the heart of FLL competitions.
  • Mission Challenges: Solve real-world-inspired challenges from past competition seasons.
  • Project Development: Learn how to brainstorm, research, and present creative solutions to real-world problems.
