Play Makers

Welcome to Camp PlayMakers, an exciting and engaging week-long camp where kids discover the science of play, unleash their creativity, and work together to reimagine how people move, play, and interact through sports and games! This camp is inspired by the PlayMakers season of FIRST LEGO League Explore and is designed for children aged 6–10 who are ready to dive into STEM learning while having a blast.

What Campers Will Do:

At Camp PlayMakers, kids will embark on a fun-filled journey to explore the world of sports and games. Through teamwork, hands-on activities, and LEGO building, campers will:

• Explore Play: Investigate how games and sports are designed and what makes them enjoyable for players. Campers will learn about the importance of physical activity, teamwork, and inclusivity in play.
• Design Solutions: Brainstorm innovative ways to improve existing games or invent new ones. Whether it’s making games safer, more exciting, or accessible for everyone, campers will use their creativity to rethink the way we play.
• Build & Program a LEGO Model: Using LEGO kits and motors, campers will build a working model that represents their ideas for improving play. From a unique sports device to a futuristic playground, the possibilities are endless!
• Create a Show Me Poster: Document their research, ideas, and solutions on a colorful and creative poster. Campers will share their work with peers, family, and camp leaders during a fun showcase at the end of the week.
