Heroes Among Us

Join Camp Heroes Among Us, an exciting and hands-on summer camp where kids (ages 6–8) will use creativity, problem-solving, and coding skills to honor the everyday heroes who make a difference in our communities. Inspired by the Sphero Indi Global Challenge Season 2: Heroes Among Us, this camp empowers young learners to create innovative solutions using Sphero Indi robots while learning about the inspiring work of community heroes.

What Campers Will Do:

At Camp Heroes Among Us, kids will explore the world of coding and robotics while designing creative ways to help real-life heroes. Through teamwork and fun challenges, campers will:

1. Learn About Everyday Heroes
   • Discover the incredible work of community heroes like firefighters, doctors, teachers, delivery workers, and more.
   • Discuss how these heroes help others and brainstorm challenges they face in their daily lives.
2. Code with Sphero Indi
   • Learn to program Sphero Indi robots using color-coded tiles to complete real-world tasks.
   • Practice foundational coding skills like sequencing, problem-solving, and debugging.
3. Design & Build Creative Courses
   • Create interactive obstacle courses and themed environments where Indi can assist heroes, such as delivering supplies, guiding someone to safety, or navigating a rescue mission.
   • Combine storytelling, design, and coding to bring their ideas to life.
4. Complete Daily Hero Challenges
   • Take on fun, hands-on challenges each day that encourage creativity and teamwork, such as designing a robot delivery route for a hospital or guiding Indi through a fire station maze.
5. Showcase Their Creations
   • At the end of camp, kids will present their projects, explaining how their Indi robot helps the heroes in their story. Families will be invited to celebrate their accomplishments at a special showcase event.
